2kg CO2 Fire Extinguisher

The 2kg CO2 Fire Extinguisher is specifically designed for Class B (flammable liquids) and electrical fires, making it the go-to extinguisher for server rooms, IT offices, laboratories, and switchboard areas across Kenya. Unlike powder or water extinguishers, CO2 leaves no residue, protecting sensitive electronic equipment from secondary damage.

Carbon dioxide works by displacing oxygen around the fire, effectively suffocating it. The 2 kg capacity provides approximately 8 seconds of discharge through a frost-free horn that prevents cold burns during use. The lightweight aluminium alloy cylinder makes it easy to handle even for non-technical staff during an emergency.

The extinguisher features a squeeze-grip valve for controlled discharge, a safety pin with tamper-evident seal, and a high-pressure seamless cylinder tested to 250 bar. A pressure test date is stamped on the body for regulatory compliance. No pressure gauge is needed as CO2 extinguishers are sealed units — weight checks during annual service confirm charge status.

This extinguisher complies with KEBS standards and KS ISO 7165. It is suitable as a secondary extinguisher in offices alongside a dry powder unit, or as the primary extinguisher in areas with high concentrations of electrical equipment. Important: CO2 extinguishers should not be used in confined, unventilated spaces.
