CCTV Installation & Surveillance Systems
Professional CCTV camera installation and 24/7 surveillance system setup for homes, offices, and commercial properties across Kenya.

Whether you are protecting a family home in Karen, a busy retail shop in Nairobi CBD, or a warehouse in Athi River, a properly designed CCTV system is one of the most effective investments you can make in the safety of your people and property. At Lance Security, we design, supply, and install surveillance systems tailored to the unique requirements of each site — accounting for Kenyan lighting conditions, dust exposure, power reliability, and the specific threats you face.
Types of CCTV Technology We Install
Choosing the right technology is the foundation of an effective surveillance system. We work with three primary camera technologies, and we will recommend the one that fits your budget and objectives:
IP (Internet Protocol) cameras — The modern standard. IP cameras deliver resolutions from 2 MP all the way to 8 MP (4K), transmit video over your existing network cabling, and support advanced features such as motion analytics, line-crossing detection, and facial recognition. Ideal for offices, retail chains, and any site where you need crystal-clear footage and remote access.
HD-TVI (High Definition Transport Video Interface) — A cost-effective middle ground that runs over coaxial cable while delivering HD and Full HD video. If your property already has coax wiring from an older system, upgrading to HD-TVI lets you reuse that cabling and still achieve sharp, reliable footage.
Analog cameras — Legacy systems that remain suitable for basic perimeter monitoring where high resolution is not essential. We can maintain or upgrade existing analog installations and advise you when the cost savings of moving to IP or HD-TVI make sense.
Camera Types for Every Scenario
The physical form of a camera matters just as much as the technology behind it. Our engineers select camera housings based on where they will be mounted and what they need to capture:
Dome cameras — Discreet, vandal-resistant, and well-suited to indoor ceilings in offices, hotel lobbies, and retail shops. Their compact housing makes it difficult for onlookers to determine the direction the lens is pointing.
Bullet cameras — Robust and weather-rated (IP67), ideal for outdoor perimeters, parking lots, and gate areas. The elongated body naturally shields the lens from Kenya's strong equatorial sun and seasonal rains.
PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras — Motorised cameras that can be controlled remotely to pan across wide areas, tilt to track a subject, and zoom in for close-up identification. PTZ cameras are indispensable for large compounds, industrial yards, and gated communities where a single camera needs to cover a broad field of view.
DVR vs NVR — Recording and Storage
Your cameras are only as useful as the recordings they produce. We install two types of recording units:
DVR (Digital Video Recorder) — Receives video from analog or HD-TVI cameras via coaxial cable. DVRs are straightforward, affordable, and reliable for small to mid-sized installations of up to 16 cameras.
NVR (Network Video Recorder) — Designed for IP cameras, an NVR processes video that has already been encoded at the camera. NVRs support higher resolutions, more channels (up to 64+), and advanced search features such as filtering footage by detected events. For larger sites or clients who need analytics, NVR is the clear choice.
Storage capacity is sized to your retention needs — whether that is 7 days, 30 days, or 90 days of continuous recording. We use surveillance-grade hard drives rated for 24/7 operation and can incorporate cloud backup for critical footage.
Remote Viewing and Mobile Monitoring
Every system we install comes configured for remote viewing. Using your smartphone, tablet, or laptop, you can pull up live feeds and playback footage from anywhere with an internet connection. We set up secure apps from Hikvision (Hik-Connect) or Dahua (DMSS) and walk you through the process so you are confident using them before we leave your site. For businesses with multiple branches, we can configure centralised monitoring so a single security desk oversees every location on one screen.
Our Installation Process
Free site survey — Our technical team visits your property, assesses vulnerable areas, maps camera positions, and identifies cabling routes.
System design and quotation — We prepare a detailed proposal with equipment specifications, a site plan showing camera coverage, and a transparent price breakdown in KES.
Professional installation — Our trained technicians mount cameras, run and conceal cabling, install the recording unit, and connect the system to your network. We use conduit and trunking to keep installations neat and weather-proof.
Configuration and handover — We configure recording schedules, motion zones, remote access, and user accounts. You receive a full walkthrough and printed quick-start guide.
After-sales support — We remain available for troubleshooting, expansions, and ongoing maintenance to keep your system performing at its best.
