Addressable Smoke Detector

The Addressable Smoke Detector by Hochiki is a professional-grade fire detection device designed for integration with addressable fire alarm panels in commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, schools, and high-rise properties across Kenya. Each detector has a unique address, allowing the fire alarm panel to identify exactly which device has activated — critical for rapid emergency response in large buildings.

Using advanced optical sensing technology, this detector identifies smoke particles from slow-burning fires with high sensitivity while maintaining excellent resistance to false alarms from dust, steam, and cooking fumes. The detection algorithm continuously analyses air samples and adjusts sensitivity to compensate for environmental contamination over time.

The detector communicates via a two-wire loop with compatible addressable fire alarm panels from Hochiki, including the Firenet and L@titude series. Loop-powered operation eliminates the need for additional power cabling. The unique address is set via rotary DIP switches on the detector base, making commissioning straightforward for fire alarm engineers.

A dual-colour LED provides remote visibility of the detector's status: green for normal standby, red for alarm condition. The standard Hochiki YBN-R/3 base (sold separately) provides a secure bayonet-fit mounting and allows easy detector removal for maintenance without disturbing the wiring.
