Heat Detector (Rate of Rise)

The Heat Detector (Rate of Rise) is specifically designed for environments where smoke detectors would produce frequent false alarms — kitchens, boiler rooms, garages, workshops, and dusty warehouses. Instead of detecting smoke particles, this device triggers an alarm when it senses a rapid rise in temperature (typically 8°C per minute) or when a fixed temperature threshold of 57°C is reached.

The dual-sensing mechanism (rate-of-rise plus fixed temperature) provides comprehensive fire detection. A slow-developing fire that gradually raises the ambient temperature will trigger the fixed-temperature element, while a fast-developing fire with a rapid heat surge triggers the rate-of-rise element. This dual approach minimises the risk of missed detections.

This conventional (non-addressable) detector connects to standard 2-wire zone fire alarm panels via its normally open contact. It is compatible with panels from all major manufacturers including Hochiki, C-TEC, Morley, and Kentec. The detector fits standard Hochiki bases and can share zones with conventional smoke detectors as part of a mixed detection strategy.

The compact white housing matches the Hochiki smoke detector range for a consistent appearance across your fire alarm installation. A red alarm LED provides visual indication when the detector is triggered, aiding fire brigade identification of the activated zone.
