Garrett ACE 300 Metal Detector

The Garrett ACE 300 is a versatile ground search metal detector suitable for treasure hunting, archaeological surveys, utility line detection, and general metal detection in the field. While primarily a recreational detector, it is also used by Kenyan security companies and investigation teams for locating buried metallic objects, weapons caches, and underground utilities.

Featuring Garrett's Digital Target ID with a 0-99 scale, the ACE 300 helps you identify buried objects before digging. The 7x10" PROformance DD search coil provides excellent ground coverage and target separation. Eight sensitivity levels and five search modes (Zero Disc, Jewellery, Relics, Coins, Custom) allow you to focus on specific target types while ignoring unwanted items like nails and bottle caps.

The ACE 300 operates at 8 kHz frequency, providing a good balance between sensitivity to small targets and detection depth. It achieves depths of up to 20-25 cm for coin-sized objects in typical Kenyan soil conditions. An electronic pinpoint mode narrows the detection field for precise target location before digging, minimising ground disturbance.

The adjustable stem accommodates users of different heights, and the padded armrest ensures comfortable extended use. The detector weighs just 1.3 kg, making it lightweight enough for hours of fieldwork. It runs on four AA batteries with approximately 25 hours of use — sufficient for multiple field sessions between battery changes.
