HID Proximity Card Reader

The HID Proximity Card Reader (ProxPoint Plus) is the global standard for card-based access control, trusted by corporations, embassies, hospitals, and high-security facilities worldwide — and increasingly across Kenya. This reader communicates with access control panels via the industry-standard Wiegand protocol, making it compatible with virtually any system.

The reader supports HID 125 kHz proximity cards and key fobs with a read range of up to 8 cm. Its compact, vandal-resistant housing features a contemporary mullion design that fits standard door frames, narrow mullions, and single-gang electrical boxes. An integrated mounting plate simplifies installation and conceals wiring for a clean appearance.

Visual and audible feedback via a tri-colour LED and beeper confirms successful card reads, denied access, and system status. The reader operates on 5-16V DC and draws minimal current, making it compatible with most access control panel auxiliary power outputs. Wiegand 26-bit output is the default, with field-selectable options for custom formats.

HID cards offer superior security over generic EM4100 cards commonly found in the market. Each card contains a unique, factory-programmed code that cannot be easily cloned, protecting your premises from duplicate card threats. HID credentials are available in various form factors including standard cards, slim cards, and key fobs.
