Magnetic Door Contact Sensor

The Magnetic Door Contact Sensor is a fundamental building block of any alarm system, detecting when a door or window is opened. Using reliable reed switch technology, this sensor triggers an alarm signal the moment the magnetic contact is broken, providing instant notification of unauthorised entry into your premises.

This surface-mount contact consists of two parts: a reed switch housing that mounts on the door frame and a magnet that mounts on the moving door or window. When the door opens and the magnet moves away, the reed switch changes state and signals the alarm panel. The compact white housing blends discreetly with most Kenyan interior finishes and door frames.

The sensor features a normally closed (NC) reed switch rated for millions of operations, ensuring years of trouble-free service. A built-in tamper loop detects any attempt to remove or interfere with the sensor. The gap tolerance of up to 25 mm accommodates slight misalignments common with wooden doors that expand and contract with humidity changes.

Installation requires minimal tools — just screws or double-sided adhesive tape. Two wires connect to your alarm panel's zone input. The sensor works with virtually all wired alarm panels from Paradox, DSC, Texecom, Risco, and others commonly used in Kenya.
