1.5mm² Fire Resistant Cable (100m roll)

This 1.5mm² Fire Resistant Cable is a critical component for fire alarm systems, emergency lighting circuits, and other life-safety installations that must continue operating during a fire. Manufactured by Prysmian (formerly Pirelli), this cable maintains circuit integrity for a minimum of 2 hours at temperatures up to 950°C, ensuring that fire alarms, emergency lights, and smoke ventilation systems remain functional when they are needed most.

The cable features 2 cores of 1.5mm² stranded copper conductors insulated with mica tape and cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). The mica tape layer is the key fire-resistance element — it maintains electrical insulation even after the outer sheath and XLPE insulation have burned away. An overall low-smoke, zero-halogen (LSZH) sheath minimises toxic fume emission during a fire, protecting building occupants.

This cable is designed for installation in commercial buildings, hospitals, schools, shopping malls, hotels, and high-rise residential buildings across Kenya. It is typically used to wire fire alarm panels to detectors, sounders, and call points; emergency lighting inverters to fittings; fire damper controls; pressurisation fans; and fire-rated lift circuits.
